The Dennis Schapiro Innovation in Montessori Teacher Education Award is awarded annually to a member of the Montessori Teacher Education community that has brought about significant change.
Dennis Schapiro was an innovator. He wasn’t afraid to bring about change. Catherine McTamaney, author and education lecturer at Vanderbilt University was quoted saying “Denny pushed us to think beyond our sphere, …reconciling our visions of Montessori.”
October 1st was the deadline for nominations. The recipient of the award will be announced October 9th!
Last year, Dennis Schapiro was the first recipient of MACTE’s award for Innovation. Denny’s wife Jeanne Andre and their two sons Jeremiah and Tokumbo were in attendance to receive the award.
